Dusted off my old Maxon MX21e 40 channel cb, found the mic in my teenage sons old toybox, but cant find the gutter mounted aerial anywhere.....

Had a look on the Nevada site and they sell these:

Any thoughts?

It has to be a magmount as I dont want a permanent fitting, want it all to be portable - am changing the power lead to a cigarette lighter type plug etc.

Any better alternatives, at about £30?

TobyJug on here will do you a sweet deal Pete ;)

Ok, will contact him.

Only mentioned nevada as I have a data programming kit for my vhf set on order, so will save 5.95 postage....

Annoyingly, as well as losing my old gutter mount aerial I have also mislaid a second micro-sized cb - think I last saw it about 10 years ago......

The magmount arrived from Nevada (in the worlds biggest tube!!).

Really solid bit of kit, looking forward to setting the rig up, just need to convert it to a 12v cigar type connector.

the little one that Maplins do is bang i for laning, very sticky aswell, only about £20

Cut the 12v plug off an old phone lead, it has a 5A fuse which should be ok.

Attached the cb to the side of the trans tunnel and wired it up no problem. Connected the magmount and it all works ok - hopefully someone in my local 4x4Response team has a swr meter, get the aerial length sorted.

Had the rig since 1986, glad I kept it!

Checked it with the swr meter last night, its spot on.

Now need to remember its on the roof.....
