I finished my manual conversion this week so gave it a good thrashing today and didn't manage to break anything! A couple of hours on motorways, A roads and even a little off road. I loved the thing with it's auto box but now with the manual it's fantastic, new gearbox behaves perfectly (phew) and lots more fun to drive.
I do have a question for other manual owners, what's the RPMs at 70 MPH?
I was at 2800 at 70 mph using a gps for speed reference and I'm on 285's. This felt ok, it pulled strong through the lower gears and easily made 90 mph on the motorway, probably more if I'd pushed it.
So how do these figures compare with other owners?

Great job, well done. Figures sound about right. Got 110 out of mine on the obligatory new car, "what will it do" first drive. Was many years ago now.

Can't tel you what revs at seventy but sixty !!
Here ya go

Its a Little blurry but hopefully this will help you out,
It's a 1995 manual, 24 valve engine.

Taken a few years ago now and I seem to recall that 80 mph (german autobahn only obviously) is about 3200 rpm.
