Hi guys my name is Ashir. I am from Pakistan. I have built an HJ47, 1982. I put in 4.2 liter, Turbo, 1HDT Engine, full time 4X4, auto transmission, power doors and windows, Sunroof, HED Hummer lights, 38 inch Michelin tires. Its 76 inches wide, and 78 inches tall.
Its a cool build and runs like a dream. I am super excited so I am sharing pics. the project took me three years. God I am in Love.
I started from Chassis. Placed the suspension from 1994 Land cruiser.

Wowwwwww :)

Your plates say Quetta but you need to take that north to Chitral and Gilgit.
I travelled there many years ago in BJ landcruisers and Bedford trucks. That would be such a comfortable car for the Karakorum highway. I swear i still have bruises 20 years later from being smashed around on the flatbed of Landcruisers. What a great project i have one thing i'd change ..... Bright blue paint if it were mine.

That is only savage!!!! I usually don't like when lads modernize the looks of the likes of the 40 but that just right in every way

Ashir, welcome. You have created something greater than the sum of its parts. That not only looks right, it looks like you have paid great attention to detail at every stage of the build. I love the colour, I think it suits the 40s… Now, wait a minute, it's really a 40 over an 80…right? 40/80= 0.5 or a half. The French for half is Demi, if you wanted a girlies name, or Hemi, for a bit stronger name. Semi maybe? No matter, what name does it have Ashir? A truck like that should have a name. By the way, it's not just the headlights, it actually (to me anyway) looks a little like a Hummer.

That is a superb truck, bravo indeed, and thanks for sharing it with us. Looking forward to seeing and reading more.

Thx Bud,
I am now going to change the dash and steering to make it Right Hand Drive coz I am planning on taking it to Canada.

You mean Left Hand Drive for driving on the right Ashir…I was a bit confused for a minute there. Now I'm just in awe! That must be some undertaking to change from RHD to LHD, not just the dash. :bow-blue:

It will take some doing, the dash with everything behind it goes over to the other side along with the stuff under the bonnet on the engine side too. Then the pedals and their fitting, the steering box would have to change and the connector to the front wheel. oh and also the gear lever.
Whenever you go from LHD to RHD country and vice versa is every time you want to turn the wipers go on :)

You have skills! What a build. Love that thing.... Don't worry about changing which side you drive on. At least in the Vancouver area, there are quite of few Right Hand Drives running around!
