For info
Current cost for 20 weeks insurance for African Continent
For a 13 year old 80 series LC valued at =A314K (incl accessories)
- Accidental Damage, Fire & Theft cover: =A31,400 - equares to =A370/week
- Fire & Theft Only: =A3420 - equates to =A321/week
- Broker - Campbell Irvine, London
Key points to consider:
If going for this type of policy - get the vehicle value and your
accessories value broken down in detail on a sheet of paper and
incorporated into the policy - otherwise you may have difficulty
claiming for the bolt on bits etc - ie roof tents , fancy winches etc
etc
Its alot of dosh for the full monty - the fire and theft would give
some piece of mind.
Don't think my budget will stretch to the full monty - so will be
packing a fold-away bicycle for onward travel to Capetown in the event
that I get stuck - any idea what type of tyres I'll need on it? - what
about a suspension upgrade?? - Oh - and whats the best type of chain
oil for desert conditions??!! ;-)
Cheers
