Well, Mr P arrived in his cruiser which could only be described as black. Very black. After almost a minute of research, we found the problem. There appeared to be a little wear in the front prop forward UJ. Tricky to see in the picture

As I had a spare front prop in pretty good condition all ready built up we struck a deal and I got my top mechanic on the job. In no time at all it was out and swapped. The spider actually collapsed as I, sorry my top mechanic, turned it by hand.

Another pick, again difficult to see the wear I know.

Then we popped to Milner, grabbed some gear and in a timed pit stop did oil, filter, fuel and air filters in 13 mins. Well at £10 and hour, I didn't want to keep him hanging around. Wasn't even time to boil the kettle. Even fixed one or two other bits and bobs while we were at it. Sounded to be running pretty well. Still some jobs to do though, eh Paddy.

Aye, with the benefit of picture, I don't think that was the problem really - he'll be back in a bit so you can sting him for a few more bits of unnecessary parts & labour

That grease nipple looks well used! One of the jeep ones went like that a few years back and had "a bit of play" in it!

You should've put some grease in it to see if it helped before changing it :D

And make sure clean grease comes out of all 4 cups.... even if you have to search back up the road for some of the bits of cup!

Sorry Chris, but I can't see why that needed to be replaced. Sounds like you fleeced him to fund bits for your new 80 ;) The lengths some folk will go to!

Yes, could be right. But I have a feeling that Paddy has a list already. Some fairly heavy duty items to tackle. I'll get those done for him and then see what we can find left that's completely pointless. Actually not sure there is anything after that. The words he used were TLC.

cant see whats wrong, theres a few miles left in that I am sure

Out of interest why did Paddy think it needed a CV and half shaft? Did he know the fault but not what the bits are called?

Ian

There were at least a few metres left in that UJ  !!! Thank God, I mean Mr T, that that didn't let go at speed.

These Land Cruiser specialists are springing up everywhere!!

I think it was so close that I actually couldn't have reversed out of Chris's drive (that's what they call the luck of the Irish).

Just need to thank Chris, top man, top job!
Really appreciate the effort and advise, I can see a camo wrap on the horizon

Really appreciate it, cheers!

You're welcome fella. I just like the idea of keeping the monsters going and out of the clutches of the likes of CF and OCS.
