Plastigauge BEB clearances - Question

Is it accepted as ok practice to torque down your old conrod bolts (which appear to still be in spec according to the FSM) in order to obtain a plastigauge reading, before using new conrod bolts to complete the installation?

IIRC being stretch bolts torquing past the initial setting wont effect the plasti gauge readings.

Were possible you should really measure the crank and big ends with micrometers to obtain the correct clearance. Plasti-guage is not a very accurate measurement.
