My blind uncle must have been in his late 40's when my mum grabbed her eldest brother by the hand and made him sprint after her , he's 70 odd now and he still talks about it with a smile .

Fair play to Jon Bonjovi for doing what He's contributing currently.. but if you flash back to the early 1990's, He was a tallent spotter for unsigned bands.

He sorted "Skid row" in getting signed and took them on tour as bonjovi 's warm up band... sounds good... but He totally ripped off the young band and they received a small percentage of the record royalties.. Guess who got the chunk of their royalties? It was justified by the fact that Jon had got them famous!

In 1976, Shavarsh Karapetyan, an Armenian Olympic swimmer, had just completed a 12-mile run with his brother when they saw a trolley bus crash into a dam reservoir. The trolley bus sank 80 feet offshore at a depth of 33 feet. Shavarsh immediately dove in and swam to the bus and despite zero visibility, managed to kick in the back window, injuring himself in the process. He proceeded to save twenty people trapped in the bus, one at a time, for hours.
The combined effect of the cold water and his inquiries from breaking the glass window led to his hospitalization for 45 days after the incident, during which time he developed pneumonia, sepsis, and lung damage which ended his athletic career.
For years, his story wasn't known, until an article about the event identified him by name in 1982. In 1985, he happened to pass by a burning building and rushed inside, again saving people trapped inside one at a time until he collapsed. He was again hospitalized with severe burns and lung damage.
He's still kicking it at 66. Just an awesome person I learned about today and thought I'd share.

Sounds like a totally SELFLESS HUMAN BEING reckon most people these days would be standing with their bloody phones out and recording the suffering of others just because

Famous Italian diver Enzo Mallorca was diving in the hot sea of Syracuse and talking to his daughter Rossana who was on the boat.
Ready to dive, felt something hit his back slightly. Turned back and saw a dolphin. He realized he didn't want to play, but to express something.
The animal dipped and Enzo followed him.
About 12 meters deep, trapped in an abandoned net, there was another dolphin.
Mallorca quickly asked her daughter to grab her dive pieces. Within minutes the two managed to release the dolphin who, on the boundary of forces, managed to emerge, issuing a ′′ almost human cry ′′ (as described by Mallorca).
A dolphin can resist underwater for up to 10 minutes, then drowns.
The released dolphin, still stunned, was controlled by Enzo, Rossana and the other dolphin. Then the surprise came: She was a dolphin, who then gave birth to a puppy.
The male circulated them and, stopping ahead of Enzo, touched his cheek (like a kiss), in a gesture of gratitude... and they walked away.
Enzo Mallorca finished his intervention by saying, ′′ Until man learns to respect and to dialogue with the animal world, he will never be able to know his true role on this earth."
