Probably a stupid Sat NAv question

This has probably been asked many many times but........

I have a LC4 which has sat nav but is outdated to say the least so is it possible to retro fit the colour screen typ unit that the LC5 has ?

How does the LC4 satnag run? The LC5 one runs off a DVD unit under the drivers seat and is linked into various ECUs to pick up speed etc and has a special antenna up in the roof lining.

It also controls the radio and climate system and shows the tuner/cd display ...

So I suspect it would be less work to fit a double din Panasonic or similar unit with integrated GPS.
