My new steering bars: En24T ø30mm with extra wall thickness for the threads.

Threads . . . . turned on? :laughing-rolling:

From where.... and how muchos?

A good friend of mine - all in, including track rod ends and adjustable steering damper clamp - £120 :)
That was serious mate rates though, we have a mutual history of owing each other favours from a series gearbox to a blue print v8 in the life exchange plan over the years!!!!
Considering Gwyn Lewis wants £90 a bar without TRE's, clamp or extra wall for the thread, I feel happy!

It was decided to use the track rod ends from the relay bar up front on the drag link as the front ones have a long and potentially weak shaft. The tapers are the same.

Nice. Never bent one I have to say, nor ever seen one on an 80 get bent. I do wonder of making them stronger means that if you DID bend one they'd be harder to straighten in the field.

Certainly wouldn't pay the GL rates. Might make me a pair when I've nothing else in the shop as it were. Probably in about another 10 years ha ha,

Haha - I know the time thing Chris, one day!

I've bent both steering bars, the relay bar sat on a rock and bent, the drag link bent with a wheel in a rut and me giving it some beans to turn out, that bent like a banana!

I bent mine on a tarmac road in Croatia, clipped a grass verge at about 50mph and hit a rock hidden in the grass :icon-surprised: that threw me right across the road into a very conveniently placed side road. Got it straightened by a local Mr Fixit.

Never touched mine but I guess my beast is a little taller than most
I have a steering arm guard that I took off because I didn't really need the protection
It just affected my approach angle
