I thought about the black grill as well Julian and bought one SH of eBay to experiment with but it never turned up (I did get a refund though). It's on my list of things to try but probably not on the grill I have in case it doesn't work. Might also try cutting the middle out and making a mesh grill with an old fasioned LandCruiser badge on it Keeping a look out for another cheap grill to play with now.
