Rear door panel removal? What am I missing? KZJ78

I am trying to remove the small rear door panel and I cannot for the life of me see what I am missing! Having removed the screw in the door handle I cannot get the surround off. I can unpop all the panel fixings but it holds fast on the handle. Does anyone know what I am missing? I am loathed to put too much force as I don't want to break something. I have removed loads of door panels and just can't see why this won't budge.

After removing the screw from the door handle you need to slide the handle sideways (can't remember if it's left or right) and the handle will come away. You might then need to disconnect the rod from the handle to take the door card off, it's a bit fiddly but do-able

It is to the right to remove. Similar to to a lot of these style handles but as I said I did not want to force anything. You are right about disconnecting the rod.
