Rear Fog light

Can anyone help please? My car passed its MOT no problem a few months back so I know the rear fog light must have been working. Now when I hit the switch nothing seems to happen. The problem I have is that I am not quite sure what should happen on the rear as for one I don’t know which is the fog light and two when I hit the switch it does not click on and click off but rather just pushed in and releases if that makes sense. So I am unsure if it’s the switch or the light.

So which is the fog light and should the rear fog switch to the right of the steering wheel click (lock) on and click (unlock) when pressed off like the power heat button next to it?

- The switch does not click. (The rear fog lights are always off when switching ignition on)
- The lights will come on only with headlights or front fogs on.
- The fogs are on the tailgate part of the tail lamps.
Could be a wet-plug-problem. (My 2000 had this problem intermittantly. My 2004 is ok so far)
