Thankfully my interstate battery died in the Costco parking lot--still under warranty (just had to walk dead battery into the store and receive a new one). After installing new battery, the compass in my 2000 Lc rear view displays a C with intermittent 100. Am I to assume the C is an alert to recalibrate? I've replaced several batteries in the 8 years I've owned it. This has never happened before.

Hi Red Taz,

I think 'C' is for calibration, and although you have replaced you batteries on several occasions in the past, you may not have disconnected it for very long, so the compass in your rear view mirror didn't have time to lose it's calibration, if you still have this problem, find an empty space and drive around in a circle two or three time's, hopefully this will recalibrate your compass.

We haven't got a compass in our rear view mirrors in the UK, we use maps :)

Hope this works.
