Subject: Rriding in a little FJ and 4x4ing in Moab
Just drove 1 while at Moab (Landcruiser 4x4 meet).
Will try and post some photos later - attached 4.
Not a bad litte truck but if u're putting on bumpers, winch and other gear u
need a 3" lift (RevTech I believe had one at the event) - as it drops 1.5"
below stock height :) (and hence lots of clanging!).
Toyota has a promotional TEAM that are going around the country (USA)
appearing at 4x4 events and driving the trucks and getting people 2 hop in 4
a spin. Very well received and first time I've seen Toyota doing anything on
a PR nature (other than lame TV adverts) for 4x4ing.
At Moab they had 5+ FJ's and a nice (PR) setup with trailers, big screen 4
showing off videos/pics at events.
My buddie Robbie (in green shirt spotting FJ up the wedge) is part of the
team so get a little xtra insight.

Starting 2 c some on the road these days and certaintly is an intersting
looking truck - compared to others on the road. I think they start around
$24K at basic level
PS Had 4 pics but over the 100K limit so will have 2 send seperatly via

Subject: [ELCO] FJ Cruiser on Topgear
Hi,
Check this out.
http://www.topgear.com/content/features/stories/2006/05/stories/01/1.html
Clearly there is a good demand for this toy. Jeep is
bringing in the new 2006 Wrangler to Europe end of
this year with a 2.8CRD (Common Rail Diesel). What is
Toyota's answer for it? Honestly I don't know why
Toyota UK do something useful and interesting. They
made the same mistake with the Hilux Surfs. Toyota UK
is absolute useless.
I might import this next year and do a LPG conversion.
I don't mind driving a LHD car. I used to have a LHD
1995 Ford Mustang. The only downside driving a LHD car
in the UK is opening the car park barriers, you have
to get out the car and run around to the other side of
the car to get the ticket from the barrier or scan
your pass.
Cheers,
