Hi all I have just started rebuilding and upgrading the front brakes on my 80 all good there. but I just noticed to small holes in the drivers iner wing not the end of the world. but this is the fist rust I found. I could just cut them out and welding them up .but when the tin worm starts you know what i meen. so can you get new iner wings for a 80 or what do you think is best

You can. It all depends how much worm you have. You can take the outer wing off, give it a real good clean, sot the rust with something strong and give it some sealer.

I have been thinking this as mine are starting to crumble in a couple of areas. I would be interested to see just what the cost is and what is involved (I think a lot of removal and refitting). Watching with interest.

hi Chris
just out of interest what would you treat it with?

I can not moan this is the first bit of tin worm I fond and its 24 years old if it was a land rover I would be seeping it out the door. lol

I think Byron's just replaced the inner wings on my old 80.

A lot of the Land Rover boys like Fertan (and they should know!) :icon-biggrin:
USA Jeep boys all swear by POR15 but I have read reports that it gets brittle and cracks off.
I quite like Bilt Hamber's range, but Dinitrol products are also great.

will have a look at these thanks
