Myself and Ecky are doing Slindon Safari on sunday, anyone fancy it?????

If you can think of an excuse to get me out of going to a Christening...... :violin:

I have been my usual slow self fixing the green car after Lincomb, if I get it done I'll pop down to Slindon.

Ian

Ooh!! I'm game.

See you all there!

I'll be trundling down the A29 aiming to get there for just before 10am.
Last time I went to Slindon I only got stuck the once. I hope somebodys got a winch.

Is anyone going to be on CB?

We will be there on channel 3.
I don't hit the A29 til the top of Bury Hill but aim to be at the site around 10.
Could meet at the bikers cafe for a brew if your game at around 09:30.
Tommo will be coming in on the A27.

Hi Les,

Last time I went there I met at Tesco in Pulborough.
I do know where Bury Hill is (pretty hard to miss it), but can't say I know where the bikers cafe is.

Oh hang on, is that on the RHD going South right before a used car garage and petrol station?

Just after you crest the hill and just before the roundabout for Arundel/A29/Amberley & Storrington, it's on yer right. Still quite a run to the garage from there.
On a Sunday it is usually toppers with motorbikes, you can't miss it.
I come through Amberley and join the A29 at that roundabout 100 yards south of the cafe.

I think I might tag along and come and see what this off-roading is all about :)

You are more than welcome.
Fancy meeting at Bury Hill????

Not much in it distance wise from Woking whichever way you go to Slindon.

I've arranged to meet James at his place first and then we'll head over to Bury Hill.

I don't have any kit yet (cb, straps, winches, etc). Is there anything that I will definitely need? Apart from the truck... :)

I think there is a burger van and heads/bathrooms there, but best bring a packed lunch just in case.

We have loads of recovery gear with us and the guys who run the site have lots also.

Don't know how much water there will still be there bearing in mind the recent weather but don't come in anything you dont want dirty!

Don't worry about tow strops etc

I second what Tommo says, a picnic is a lot cheaper than the burger van.
Bring water and cloth to clean lights/windows etc when you've done.
May not be needed after the dry spell but you never know.

CB not essential at a pay and play site but does help now and again.

Last month was mostly dry although some parts looks dry but it was a deep bog of mud that had a layer of crust on it that you could walk on but wouldn't take a cars weight.

Like so....

we havent been for probably 18months now, not surprised if it has all changed!

I am not going to make it. Have fitted the new CV and drive shaft OK but this has shown that something is very very wrong with the centre diff. It did not show when in 2WD mode with the centre diff locked.

Ian

Had my pass sighned, see you in the morning about 10, Tommo what sort of time are you heading off?
Ian sorry to hear about the green car, you could bring the red one, last time I went it was not too difficult
