Bored out of my brain from sitting indoors I decided on a small runaround in the cruiser this afternoon.

Took the teenage bratt along with me, he's always keen.
And especially because it was snowing something fierce for our standards.

First track was a doddle, so I decided on another.
With the light fading on us we gave it a shot.

A small mountainbike track running between a stream and some farmland, just wide enough for an ATV. But not for a cruiser. With some frost and snow on the grond thought we would make it.
Locked the center and the rear diff and away we went in low gear. 2 tires on the mountainbike track and 2 on plowed up farmland.
We nearly made it through when the front slid into the plowed up land and the cruiser came to a halt with all 4 wheels turning in a wet muddy patch.
Its always the mud that get you.

Front difflock in and tried to reverse out, No Joy.
Didn't have the hi-lift jack with me.
Luckily there was a tree standing up at a 45 degree angle.
The winchline and the extension just reached it and away we went.

20 meters of churned up track behind us we were on firm snow covered ground again.

Aah the feeling of selfpropeled forward movement caused by a cruiser.

This is perfect, I'm storing this away on the backburner until later next year when I will need to justify to my wonderful wife on why I need a winch.

Out of interest, which winch do you have?

Warn xd9000i which is a little on the small side for the 80.
But it does the job when you need the occasional escape from a high centered problem.
