Just been through the trials of the mot - called here the ITV - with the usual worries as the test seems to get harder each year as dose the bullshit level. Here in Spain you drive your own car through the test station , a bit like a carwash but without the water.First up a check of the chassis number - almost obliterated by rust - "yeah no problem" & then on to emissions. Looking through old mots the reading seems to be the same every year........ then onto the brake rollers the strictest part of the test , no funny business here .Next up the dreaded handbrake , as anyone who off roads in a 90 knows is as much use as a chocolate teapot.Oh s**t one side reads 2.35 &the other 0.15 but some deft typing by the technician sorts thing out so on to the "wobble table " & inspection pit - any suspension bushes marginal will be well & truly shot after this.I then wait for the printout as the technician prepares a new sticker for the windscreen - its a pass ole!.Laughs aside its becoming more difficult to keep an older car on the road these days .
