Just wondering.
Is there any way simple, preferably cheap you can check your thermostat
while the engine is running.
Remote temperature sensing????
Recently I had an up and down temperature read-out on a BMW.
When new the needle for engine coolant temp rested nicely halfway.
Whatever you did push it hard or take it easy the needle rested in the same
place.
Recently it developped a wobble. Engine temp would vary. So got a new OEM
thermostat installed it and engine temp remains stable and halfway again.
After driving the Cruiser for a bit, pulled to a halt. And put a contact
thermometer on the
top coolant oulet of the engine. Registered 75 ?C.
Engine coolant temperature readout doesn't have a wobble though.
I think I've got thermo-paranoia at the moment cause of the heat-wave we're
enduring.
