I've just bought a one owner 100 2004 with 62000miles on the clock through Toyota. I tracked down the owner who tells me that the touch screen is faulty. It controls the satnav, aircon and radio. Is there any way of controling the aircon without using the touch screen? Toyota are fixing problem before I take delivery. How common are touchscreen problems ?

Frank its a known problem but not a common one I would say. There is no other way of controlling the satnav or aircon with out the screen although there is a chap on MUD ( http://forum.ih8mud.com/100-series-crui ... rsion.html ) that is looking into doing a centre dash swap with the older model that has the dials to control the aircon if thats what you would like to do. The only other option is to replace the unit at a cost arounf £3k for a new one or cheaper if you can find one second hand but still around £1500.

Hope this helps and keep us posted as to what toyota do as it may just be a connection problem at the rear.
