Can anyone give me some advice ive got an 11 plate lc200 with a genuine toyota tow bar which is so close to the rear bumper ive scratched the bumper a couple of times where the hitch on the trailer has hit the bumper when released from the tow ball. Any suggestions ?

Yes, you can get a shield plate that bolts on to prevent exactly this. Easily available from just about anywhere. It bolts on behind the tow ball.
Not looked at a 200, but can't see that the towball would be any different.
