Towbar electrics

Hi, first time posting.
I have a 2001 d4d vx and I have fitted a towbar all went well, I found the plug in the rear panel and wired everything to it except the fog light which I had to bring a wire over from the other side.
The only time I have problems is when I fully load the electrics ( all lights on including fog light) I can here a alarm sounding from the back of the car.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

Any idea what the alarm is? It's not the reversing alarm when using trailers?

Some systems have an indicator buzzer that is supposed to let you know the indicators are ok ie if it isn't buzzing when you indicate you may have a problem. Perhaps this hasn't been wired correctly?

I would go for the ET explanation, sounds to me like the indicator buzzer is the issue, have you earthed the unit itself ? this buzzer must work

On mine, the buzzer sounds in the back some where, in time with the flash, to tell me the trailer indicator is flashing.
