Travel through Africa - Question about entering on Carnet, leaving temporarily

Does anyone have any experience with traveling through Africa on a Carnet, entering a country on the Carnet, placing the vehicle in storage, flying out of the country for a few days, and returning and picking back up with the trip? Is their any country in particular that I should consider if I must do this. There is a possibility I may have to fly to South Africa for a few days then come back and finish my trip.

Yes I do it all the time. Have left vehicle in SA, Bots and ZIM.
