Hi Dyfed,
For UK models mechanically they should be the same, the main differences
being in the trim levels.
Mechanically in 1992, the 80s went to fully floating axles on the back, 16"
wheels and some slight changes in the chassis.
Then in '95 they went to 24valve diesel engines and slightly modified front
end (lights, grill, etc). They also changed the layout of the dash and
moved away from the classic grand piano look.
The main trim change for VX's came in early '94 when they introduced the
wood effect trim - it may not be pretty but it does add a dash of colour to
the interior.
It really is worth getting a hold of Glass' guide or Parkers to give you a
reasonable price comparison as well as a breakdown of the models and
refinements over age.
