Hi,
Based on a recent phone call, I would just like to stress to all list
members how important it is to make sure that if you are going to work
on your LC you must use a torque wrench for tightening up all major
bolts and nuts when re-assembling the vehicle and then check them again
a couple of hundred miles later.
Personally when re-assembling a vehicle, I always check the torque on
each nut/bolt at least twice just out of habit, which helps when you
have a series of bolts or nuts because it is quite easy to for you to
forget one.
If you don't know the torque settings get yourself a manual (the Haynes
manual is fine for basic stuff like this) or ask on the list.
Also, if you want to be on the safe side with key bolts like brake
caliper bolts, stick a drop or two of locktite on it - this should help
prevent them working loose.
