OK so now your looking heres a kinda weird scenario from down under in New Zealand. Down in middle earth we use Castrol 15/40 its ok and I change every 5k. when the old girl
1995 vx 24v,4" exhaust,18psi, bla bla.
gets a new oil change she purrs. but after about 3.5k she starts to shudder off idle and run rough under 1000 rpm. she has got good leakdowns and compressions and good filters. as soon as she gets new lube she's back to idling like a baby. Just wondering as I recon with 4-5 hrs a week maintenance I would think that the oil should stretch to 5-6k between changes.
Any one got any ideas.
