Time has come for an MOT on the KZJ78 - just wondering if I need to take it to a specialist or if any old garage can do them. I'm in Cheltenham UK if anyone has any recommendations!

Thanks!

There's nothing vehicle specific about a typical mot but they don't like old cars so i would search for a landrover place because surely they will have low standards  around here i believe most mot fails result from the garage wanting work rather than anything else so i tend to turn up looking like i swam in old engine oil because they don't make anything out of this practice if i'm going to fix it myself .

On the subject of MOT's. wish me luck I've got mine on Monday.

I used to take mine to the council workshops, they would do MOT's but no repairs, so no incentive to fail it.

Over here the MOT stations are just that. Not repair shops as well. No chance of being ripped off :)

Thanks for the advice everyone, I ended up calling the local toyota dealership to ask their advice and if they could do it, and got talking to a real old toyota fanatic who runs the service department, apparently collects all sorts and knows about all things old toyota, so thought I'd let them have a go at it. fingers crossed they don't try to rip me off as I know the car is good!
