Because the vaccine isn't 100% effective for everyone and in any case doesn't stop you getting the virus, it just lessens the effect if you do. So, you might still A) feel a bit crook, B) need to go to hospital, C) be right proper poorly or D)... still die.

Vaccinated people can still get it and still transmit it. The only thing it really does is lessen the number of people who are affected in the last two categories - really ill and dead. People just aren't grasping these simple facts. Being vaccinated only gives a measure of protection to the individual. Yes it's helps in the greater picture against the virus, but being vaccinated is not the same as being immune nor is it a license to not give a toss about anyone else nearby.

I'm for the underdog , the outsider which is what I am & from what you've revealed about your background you are too. Which is why i can't understand why you identify so strongly with those whose interests are so diametrically opposed to those of us who actually work for a living , why you're so down on on someone so ignorant or f....d that they think their only choice in life is to fiddle the dole. Seriously Mike , what do you think would happen to you if you had the misfortune to suffer serious , life changing injury or illness ? the scrounger narrative has helped to cut back the safety net to the point where it's not fit for purpose. As for the numbers how about 75% of children who live in poverty are from working families ? Covid has also thrown up a few other interesting facts - key workers , about 40% of the workforce , working men in Brittan's poorest areas 4 times more likely to die from Covid , not to mention the vast sums of money filched from us on "failed" testing & PPE procurement.Going back to Iwans point the "economy " has been put before health & the price has been paid , as always by the most vulnerable.
Spain isn't a socialist paradise & has plenty of inequality & poverty , a GDP that's a fair bit smaller than the UK but despite vigorous attempts by the right the nasty scrounger , grass up your neighbour , mean spirited & ultimately self defeating .politics hasn't taken hold to the extent that it has in the UK. because of this closing libraries & cutting grassroots services just isn't on the cards in most areas & if any politician has the brass neck to even suggest that , community groups soon put them right . The everyone for themselves , sort out your own life , stand on your own two feet politics is ok until your'e in the shit - then you're on your own .

i can see that is a very sincere response.

i truly believe that we are masters of our own destiny in the uk. we have an education system that is available to all. i left school with nothing. the teachers tried there best. i was more interested in pissing about with my mates. that is my fault. no one elses.

politicians are politicians. relatively speaking we are not a corrupt country. this aint italy, africa or south america etc.

im not an envious or jealous person. there will always be those in life who have "more". justifiable or not. a lot of folk would be better off channeling there frustrations with this, in working hard and improving there own situation.

if the safety net has been cut back to the point of being unfit for purpose due to fraudulent claimants. that only re enforces my belief they should be rooted out.

ultimately the economy pays for health care.

As for uk being a non corrupt country. So why has the test and trace costed 37billion (37 000 000 000£). The nhs has experts that could very easily done it on a wage.... this contract was given to a tory ministers wife.. She was paying consultants upto £6000 per day. Thats corruption right there.

It's reported that the 37 billion is more money payed for test and trace app than all off the countries of the world combined.

So yes the uk population are either misinformed or stupid!

That £37 billion bill was for something a bit more intrusive and Orwellian than test and trace, quite what else they designed in we'll find out in due course.

A clue will be when our PM says in one of his forthcoming Churchillian speeches that something will never happen, say a vaccine passport or something, on past performances within 3 months the very thing he said would never happen becomes reality, why anyone believes a word the clown says i'm buggered if i know, but the same goes for probably 99% of politicians and their msm gophers.

With Covid, UK proved it again that their health care system and research is best in the world. Despite all the corruption with PPE, test n trace, NHS supples corruption, vaccination was implemented successfully, lockdown and freedom was implemented with relative success. our research machinery+AZ gave vaccines to the world, NHS did it’s best, we didn’t see dead bodies lying on streets n mass burials like in many other places.

I might be wrong but even China did well by quickly controlling the spread n sharing viral genomics to rest of the world at early stage. For their population they built hospitals and provided healthcare at lightening speed. Russia too quickly developed their own vaccine. For Russia it’s more difficult to make vaccines as big uncle’s gang cornered Russia and crippled it economically n they don’t have any research support either but it did for its population what’s needed. Many other countries did well despite all the politics
