Picked the 5 rims up on Friday, and I am really pleased with the outcome.

They wern't marked or curbed, they just had lacquer lifting in places.

So when they came back from powder coating, they looked just like brand new.

Same colour.

I then bought a set of 5 new chrome valve stems, to finish them off nicely.

I think the tyres will be going back on on Wednesday, when I get my LC back from the body shop.

I am so pleased with them, I am considering having the same done to my other spare 5 rims which have the BFG All Terrains on.
Then the BFG All Terrains with the newly re'furbed rims will look stunning to any prospective buyer.

Does look Good Graham. If i have missed a thread i apoligise. Were did you get them done and if you dont mind me asking Ho much for the set?
I have the same wheels on my colorado and they was second hand when i bought them, they have been on the collie for about five years, done 50k so are now in need of a clean up so woud like to get an idea of how much of my hard earned i will be parting with.

Hi,

Chicago Coatings.

£25 per wheel.

I don't know how they do them for that price.

I took in the bare rims.

Is that the original colour? Looks a bit gold...

I think it's the soft glow of the wall lights giving a gold look.

In daylight, they are as silver as originals.

That's a nice job. With the valve caps a little dab of grease helps to stop them seizing on :icon-wink:

Gra,
Is that Chicago Coatings in Ashton? how long did they take to do them?
Nick

Yes, Chicago.

Dropped the bare rims off on a Friday morning,
picked them up again Wednesday afternoon.

Thanks Gra, Yours look the donkeys, I will give them a call and see if they offer a quick turnaround service as I don't have a second set of wheels...

Hi,

Did you find a spare set?

Gra

I've got the same problem! I can manage without a car for four or five days, but if I jack it up and take all five wheels off I've no way of transporting my wheels to Ashton!
I've got a trailer..... but my only towbar is on the cruiser!

Oh cool beige wheels.....

just kidding:icon-biggrin: They look well smart:icon-cool:

Hmmm. Maybe I could do a wheel hire service
.
Great idea !

I am sure it would work

I guess just 2 sets would do you.

17 inch for 90 series and 120 series

or 16 inch for, , , , , oh my heads cabbaged.,
