    Hard Wiring My Dashcam

Hi Guys, I've just had my dashcam hardwired to my LC4 to get rid of all those annoying cables. As I was helped by a professional auto electrician and as I took the opportunity to make a video of this, I thought it might be a helpful thing to share. And for those of you too impatient to watch...

Apple CarPlay - fitting a Pioneer SPH-DA120 in an LC4

*** PARKING SAFETY CABLE *** I've had another question about the Pioneer SPH-DA120... what do you do with the Parking Brake Safety wire? Is there a bypass? The simple answer is just ground it. Worked perfectly for me. Anyone needing a slightly more involved answer is welcome to look at this...

Home Made Daytime Running Lights (DRLs)

Daytime Running Lights look great and are an excellent safety feature, but finding after-market parts for a LC 120 series is always difficult. So a couple of years ago now I opted to make my own (complete with Dimmer circuit) using LEDs. I’ve finally got around to making a YouTube video about...

Apple CarPlay - fitting a Pioneer SPH-DA120 in an LC4

That's good to hear Bob, thanks. If you saw my Radio Removal video, you might have noticed I actually took out one of those cheap after market units you get on eBay... NO BRAND... sure it worked well, for six months, then the screen started losing colours and it turned out the sat nav was using...

Apple CarPlay - fitting a Pioneer SPH-DA120 in an LC4

*** DIMENSIONS *** Someone has already written to me and asked for the dimensions of the Pioneer SPH-DA120, so I thought it best to make another quick video explaining what's what measurement wise... http://youtu.be/X2oHpgCStyw

Apple CarPlay - fitting a Pioneer SPH-DA120 in an LC4

Hi Clive, I can't claim to have done anything clever I'm afraid. The Pioneer unit has two USB ports at its rear. They provide you with two leads and expect (male end goes in the unit - female end hangs free). They look like this...

Apple CarPlay - fitting a Pioneer SPH-DA120 in an LC4

Hi guys, I spent the weekend fitting a Pioneer SPH-DA120 in my 2005 LC4 (120 series). This is the model that turns the head unit into an extension of your iPhone. After-market parts for us Landcruiser lovers are very hard to find and so, as you'd imagine, this unit is NOT designed to fit my...

Help! - flat batteries - radio code?

It's worth pointing out this quirk - well done. I had exactly the same at the same time (weird coincidence there). I had my batteries changed and, because of the cold weather, it was a couple of days before I noticed the driver-window-control could not operate the other electric windows. By...

    Light Bar Supplier?

No worries. After-market parts for LC's will never be as common as they are for the likes of Range Rover's, etc, so we have to DIY where we can. My solution was cheap and has been in place for over a year now, so it's paid for itself thankfully.

    Radio Removal LC3, LC4, LC5, Prado (2003 to 2009)

It's easier than I made it look... I was doing it one-handed. I always get nervous when removing trim and I'd hate to break anything... but I hope my video makes it clear where, how and what to pull.

    Radio Removal LC3, LC4, LC5, Prado (2003 to 2009)

A year ago I had to remove my CD player from my 2005 LC4. I looked online for any useful videos / tutorials but couldn't find any. This weekend I had to remove my CD player again - so this time I filmed it! I've posted the vid on YouTube here - http://youtu.be/2Hwj9ay0dhs The video shows...

Long term damage to engine when running NEW veg oil/diesel?

I hate to disagree, but I've been running a 2005 LC4 on Veg Oil since it was 2 years old. I had it professionally fitted out by DieselVeg and it runs on the ATG two-tank system. I'm no mechanic and don't pretend to be an expert, so please don't ask for specifics, but I believe 2005 was the last...

    Playing with SVO in Fiery

I have to agree with Karl. A two-tank system is your safest bet for veg oil motoring. I've been running my LC4 on veg oil for years now without any troubles. It's cheaper, less polluting and free if you can get a good supplier. Check out my website www.vegoilcar.co.uk

    Privacy glass

Lightly heat it with a hair dryer and work at the edges with a Stanley blade. It will come off a treat.

    Fuel Economy

My 2005 LC4 was converted to run on Veg Oil. I know this isn't the space for Veg Oil chat, but for economy you can't beat it. You still have to add diesel to start and finish on, but I estimate 70mpg when you take into account diesel only... (I get my veg oil for free! Recycled cooking oil)...
