Good news today

Had a nice letter at work from bmw today, been invited to take the master technician assessment
Had to be nominated by my manager and area technical manger, then its decided if I get invited by bmw.
First stage is in 2 weeks which is a theory assessment, results of that determine if I get a further invite to go to the training facility and do 6 practical tests in June. 3 different vehicle faults, a customer handling exercise (they use actors to play customers) a coaching exercise (teach an apprentice one of 3 procedures) and another theory assessment! 45 mins per test and no margin for error! While in a shirt and tie being watched by people with clip boards and being filmed for parts if it (for marking later on)

Quite excited and nervous all at once. Doesn't have a big pass rate tbh but being given the opportunity is a good thing regardless of the outcome.

Don't worry about passing, just do what you know best and the rest will look after itself!

Yeah really happy. Got passed over last year for someone who's face fits at work lol. He wasn't successful but didn't put enough effort in.
Been revising for 6 months!!! Can get asked anything in theory part even dimensions of models plus technical stuff lol. Don't get to look stuff up so gotta learn everything you can think of!!

I've got to re qualify as a senior tech in October but if don't pass in June and done enough will re qualify that at least!!

Put quite a bit into it so far, had to move our holiday to euro Disney incase I get as far as the practical, can't make lincomb for same reasons. Even worse though I've had to be nice to the boss

Strangely very little extra pay at my work for it but not everything is about money.
If/when you pass get a trip to the factory which is timed for Oktoberfest lol.

Theory exam done this eve at work and passed
Now to wait a few weeks to see if I get invited to go for the practical assessments. Rather happy.

On a course next week and manager given me a 5series GT to drive as a pat on the back, got permission to use it over the weekend too, don't think it'll do well on the north York moors though!!
