I can confirm that HDK's with a ABS ring fit into older models' hubs. I can confirm (regardless of what happens tomorrow :-) ) that I apparently won a lottery and got a pair oh good HDK's from Milner. One overheated quite a bit in October 2013 (remember?) and is still going strong. Well, maybe...

In the 90's and early 2000's there were still many unknown minefields and we that worked or migrated there took extreme caution as stumog described. Today's a bit different in most of Croatia. Bosnia though, especially some remote rural regions, is another story altogether. Locals cannot go in...

The minefields are clearly marked in most areas that are interesting for overlanders. But anyway, I stick to a very conservative approach - no walking outside the well-trodden paths in the areas that are potentially problematic. There are vast areas that are known they were never mined, though...

Granger's Fabsil did a very good job on a 30 year old small tent that I still use occasionally. The waterproofing was regained, but breathability diminished ... a bit of trade-off, but a reasonable one.

I'm really happy to see overlanders that dare to explore outside the comfort area of the touristically overpopulated Morocco. :thumbup:

I didn't want to encourage a practice of leaving tools at home. Just investing in learning first. With knowledge how to use your tools you surely won't leave tools at home. But I see a lot of enthusiastic overlanders that have virtually no mechanical knowledge packing huge collections of tools...

Many good suggestions are already written above, pry bar and two hammers as yogi said are items that are often left at home but are really useful (putting a steel rim back to shape with one hammer? - good luck :-) ) Just my thoughts on 54 mm socket - I used to carry it with me, I put it on use...
