Just recently this 2007 model cruiser decided to go into limp mode, after doing all the obivious like disconnecting the power and checking fuses ect I decided to borrow a scan tool. It's telling me Fault code P2118 Thottle Actuator Control Motor which sounds fair. My only concern is that the problem that's causing this fault code to come up may be somewhere else. I hate to replace the control motor ($1500) and find that it is something else. Whilst I have the scan tool in hand is their any way of confirming that we areon the right track.

Ok and they all seem to be spic and span , I've had the motor out and it checks out ok as well. Thanks

Check for damage to the wiring loom. Has this coincided with anything, a service or driving through water? Do you know anyone with a similar vehicle you can borrow a motor from to prove yours by a temporary swap? Also check the ECU and its connections.
