24v 80 series egr crap

I had a look on the web Rich. Loads of people recommended oven cleaner. I may give the other stuff a go when I clean a inlet manifold ready for fitting.

Yes, I did too. My thought was simply to see what effect EGR cleaner had when used detached from the engine. Just my curiosity really.

I've also noticed the use of soda blasting to clean off the valve backs which looks harmless and very efficient when done out if the engine.

Brick acid cleaner would probably make light work of it .

I haven't tried alloy in it but I know it really stinks if it gets in contact with steel.

I use old battery acid to clean the side steps..

pitman arm ball joint just snapped

:icon-eek::shock: Jumped in the motor to get some beer, started turning round at the bottom of the street. Then the horrible prang sound of steel snapping..

Pitman arm ball joint had snapped. Could of been really nasty at 60..

I replaced the ball joint about three years ago, because of time, against my better judgement i fitted a roughtrax number...

These wear out and need replacing, but shouldnt snap, this could of been nasty.

So stick with toyota, and beer is good for your health..
