As a newbie to 4x4's all together, im still learning alot about these motors. Just would like some clarification. In normal road conditions, can you use 4wd mode on a LC90 Colorado, or should it only be used offroad in slippery conditions?

i dont intend on driving in full 4x4 mode on the road as there is no need but im just curious if it would damaged the gearbox if it was done?

Do you have a hand book for your 90? it is covered in there.
the 90 is a perminant (spelling?) 4x4 are you talking about locking the center diff in high range? If you drive in locked high on a none slippery surface you will do lots of damage as the wheels cant slip when you go around corners as they need to travel at different speeds.

Ahh ok. I was under the impression that it was rwd untill you put it in high/low range mode then it becomes 4wd with the option to lock the rear diff via the electronic diff lock

Chances are ill never need to put it into high/low range then unless we get 2ft of snow

try and engage the difflock once a week to keep it moving and to stop it seizing up :)

But only drive it in a straight line if you are on paved roads, you may also need to reverse it if it won't disengage.
