All wiring is soldered and double head shrink wrapped. Terminal ends are crimped and soldered as well. Time spent now negated wiring failure down the line.

All dash connections have been terminated and labeled, a little straightening out and some split loom and they'll be ready for the dash

Dash put back together. The small lights just behind the steering wheel at 10 oclock are to replace the lost high beam and E-brake indicators lost with the OEM quad gauge

post a video with the sound of that motor when its running please :)

I might come under fire for saying it but i reckon a 60 has more road presence than anything else Toyota ever built .

Your right there Shane! A tidy straight 60 with a good paint job, sizable lift and big tyres gives you serious looks on the road!
Definitely a unique machine! :icon-biggrin::icon-cool:

Excellent work there!

When I get my 90 series over here, I'll be looking at a conversion similar to yours in the future. Still unsure with whether to go with the 5.3 GM stuff, or the Turbo Diesels! I do like a bit of turbo spoool!

You know it is getting close when the hood goes back on

My Wife made matching shift boots. One on the left is a twin stick, can't find them anywhere else.

The Vortec swap and Cummins 4BT diesel swap are the two most popular swaps here in the states. I am personally not a diesel fan, unless it is in a dually tow rig that works for a living. But different strokes for different folks

Thanks Clive :icon-biggrin: I am right there with you. I am a lucky guy in that I get to do something I love to earn my living. I grew up in the muscle car era here in the states and we all chased 1/1 HP to CI as the holy grail, and spend a bunch of money doing it. I can buy a used Chevy Gen III or Gen IV 5.3L LSX motor that puts out 340 HP from the factory on pump gas. I can get them in crate motor form that pass California emissions too! Motors sure have come a long way in 40 years. Some of you guys might know of my first car,my dad bought it from the guy that owned the local sandwich shop. I can not tell you the year, but it was 1969 and I was 9 and I had a Hilman Minx. Coolest convertible you ever saw. Dad put blocks on the pedals and I drove it around in the 12 acre field behind the house.

This is it, only left hand drive. No idea of origin.

Hi I had a hillman minx 4 door was my first car I love wot you R doing with the HJ60's a big ::thumbup:From Tony.

well, I was hoping that the wheel cylinder had not been leaking long and this would be a quick job of just swapping it out. No such luck. It had been leaking a while, between fluid, dirt and break dust there was a paste all over everything. Just needed a little love.

All should be dry by now and the new shoes and hardware kits should be waiting at the parts store for me. One main spring was broken.

Sending unit from Autometer that matches the fuel gauge. No reason to mess around with the stock unit trying to make it work

Initial start up today. No fluids leaking and everything is working except the Tach, why I will figure out. Got the electric speedo calibrated and it matches my hand held tach for both speed and mileage. Runing and shifting well and nothing fell off yet :icon-biggrin:

Music to my ears i just love that sound

I imagine the 60 is a good bit lighter than a Hummer ? I struggle to imagine how the engine would feel with a manual box it was awesome in my auto , i think i would get into trouble with greenpeace driving that for leaving trails of burning rubber everywhere :icon-twisted:

I am right there with you on the sound, Between the cats and muffler it is not too loud be sounds healthy. It gets up and goes too. 0-40MPH is great, 40 -70 MPH pins you to the seat. This motor just purs. I am planning an 80 series with NV4500 trans. 5 speed with granny gear on the bottom and overdrive on top. I have the same trans in my 02 Dodge 1 ton pickup. It gets up and goes with a 5.9L Dodge V8. The Vortec 5.3L has about 50 more HP and the power comes in at a little lower RPM. I am thinking that shifting the 80 with that combo is going to be fun.

Damn i just remembered this is a customers truck ................. i would cry myself to sleep for a week after handing the keys back :|
