I have a 1996 Toyota FZJ80 Land Cruiser with about 226k miles and completely stock. Within the last couple months I have had a number of transmission issues. The transmission seems to slip when shifting from 2nd to 3rd. It only seems to slip if I try to aggressively accelerate. Additionally, most of the time it doesn't like to shift until I am around 5k rpm(especially while still on the throttle). I replaced the trans oil filter and the fluids and added a quart of Lucas when I did. I found no shavings in the fluid.
Now today I had the O/D light start flashing after coming back into town. When not on the highway I usually don't have the O/D on, and I didn't notice any difference in the way the truck drove, though I was decelerating when I noticed the light. I shut the truck off and started it back up and within a few seconds the light started flashing again.
On a side note, it was around +10 deg F today with about a 20 mph wind. I don't know how much this might affect it but I thought it might be pertinent information.
