Yes, the Actuator came from 'Pentland Cruiser's' 1999 KZJ95 Auto.

It sort of worked for a while, but the case had been damaged and when a garage tried to remove it the break became terminal.

I replaced it with a new one from Milners:

Yep thats mine, your pics are really useful.
I will work out the best bits to drill if the heat doesnt work from your pics.

Today I heated up the grease-covered gearwheel with a hot air gun; I used the 1Kw setting.

The grease softened a bit, but it wouldn't melt or go runny.

I suspect that hearing the Actuator from the outside won't cause the lubricant to flow - but it might ease the tolerances so give it a go (carefully).

Bob, .been stuck working on my laning trooper, body mounts needed rebuilding along with front x member. Only hanbrake and cv boots left to do then Ill be back to the LC.
