Adding extra seats to an 80 series UK spec?

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but can't find the thread.
I may have a chance to buy a 24 valve diesel manual car with cloth seats and
no third row. The third row of seats is important to me, but I believe it's
not a bolt in operation.
Has anyone here looked into what would be needed to add them? I know a lot
of you brave overlanding chaps remove them to add drawer sets etc. but
wondered how extensive a mod it is?

Hi Neill
Is it that the third row is just missing from the cruiser.
If the cruiser orininally had the third row they just bolt down in places if
you get a set.
I take mine out and in all the time depending on what my needs are.
Third row seats can be found but they are rare.
Or is it that it was never fitted with the third row to begine with.
cheers

Hi John/Neil,
I would think that the bolt holes will be there anyway even if seats were
not originally.

The car I saw was a GS and never had them. I'm sure that there's more to it
than just bolting them in and that the holes are not there.
Anyone got a GS model that can go and take a look?

Neil,
I have looked in to this and did not bother. Not only are the
mounting points missing from the boot floor but the wheel arches are a
different shape. The arches have recesses pressed in for some of the
mountings.
I did not know that the UK cars came without rear seats so look
for the mounts, if there it is a simple job.
Regards, Clive.
