Is there a modification that can be done to auto box on my KZJ95 Prado which would allow me to select low range without locking the centre diff ?

I know it can be done on the 80, but anyone know about the 90 series?

Cheers

Pete

No. Different set up. Mechanical lock on the 90 whereas electrically locked on the 80

The 80 CDL is electric so the motor can be made to fire at any point. The 90 is mechanical as in - attached to the end of the selector lever. When you go through the gate, you HAVE to go through the CDL to get to low ratio. The 80 lever is simply high and low. It isn't on a 90 it's High, High locked, low and locked.

Make sense now?

Oh, well.

Thanks for that Chris.

(I think it was the typo in your first answer that threw Rob.)

Ha ha, got you. I'll change that now for any future readers.

Sorry Rob.
