In a 1993 Landcruiser 80 series, are the two batteries the same or is the passenger side different from the drivers side? There appears to be a difference of opinion. Toyota say they are the same other suppliers say they are different. What amperage should they be?

Many Thanks

They are different in that they are left and right handed that's all

The ones Toyota currently supply are not the same rating as the one they replace. The are slightly smaller physically and the rating is lower. The original part has been superseded and I was told, no longer available.

I've fitted Varta batteries on mine, G7 and G8. 830A and 95ah. Very satisfied.

Thanks for the info. Have replaced both with Varta G7 and 8. Considerably cheaper the the Halfords battery No 335 which are £109 compared with £71

I currently have 2 70ah Varta's fitted which were on the car when I bought it in May'05 and they're still going strong despite being seriously flattened a couple of times due to a relay fault. Will definitely being replacing them for the same when they eventually fail.

Tayna is a great source for batteries and delivery really quickly if not next day. I have brought loads of Numax CVX24's (for different vehicles) from them which are 1,000 cold cranking amp batteries at a third of the price of popular spiral wound gel type batteries which actually have less power. I needed them for heavy winching and are popular on the challenge scene but as they are circa £70 why not use them for every day as well? I'm not sure if they do left/right handed models though.

Paul.

I've got a pair of 105ah Numax CXV30HMF dual purpose starting & deep cycle batteries fitted to Swampy that have served me well so far :)

I bought them from Advanced Battery Supplies for £95 each next day delivery http://www.advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk/numaxlowprofiledualpurposebatteries

One is a CXV30HMF http://www.advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk/numaxhmfdualterminal113ampleisurebattery

and the other is a CXV30HRMF with its terminals the opposite way around http://www.advancedbatterysupplies.co.uk/numaxhrmfdualterminal113ampleisurebattery
