When i was unlucky enough to yank my whole cig lighter out when i unplugged the satnav i assumed it was bust and would need replacing because a white sleeve slots into another white sleeve which holds the lighter sleeve , which is unlikely to make much sense unless you have done the same and yanked it all out . Separated the 2 white sleeves really do appear to be one piece broken apart , it is not .
So to save someone the headache i had , DO NOT attempt to put the bits back together while its outside of the dash because you will not then be able to re-seat it where its supposed to be and getting it apart again without breaking it is a nightmare .
Remove the ashtray and its metal holder and reassembling the whole thing is pretty easy .
Just thought this might save someone else spending 2 hours to do what is a 5 minute job with the benefit of hindsight .
