A quick google of the part number seems to indicate it is a bimetallic vacuum switching valve. If it has a couple of pipe stubs sticking out the back then it may be found on eBay.
There's various descriptions of it for that part number though so best do a little googling yourself Red.

New sensor sourced and on route ..... now 80 quid lighter.
What did it turn out to be and where from, both in the engine and bought from?

No idea what it does ... but it lives in the side of the head under the intake manifold. .. it is connected by 2 vac pipes to the nest of valves etc hidden under the intake manifold.
