in my current bout of DIY...

I want to (do I need to?) change the steering fluid.

There seem to be two or three trains of thought -
1) disconnect the return line, start the engine, catch the return in waste bottle and keep topping up with new until new coming out. - Seems "panicy"
2) disconnect the hose from the steering and let it all drain out. - Seems like bleeding could be a hassle?
3) suck out what you can from the reservoir with a turkey baster, fill, start engine and work steering wheel, repeat 2-3 times. - Seems like a lot of work?

Anything else to add to the pot?

Bleeding isn't difficult. Wheels off the ground turn steering lock lock without hitting the stops. Repeat a few times. Job's done.

dont forget to fully wash the the turkey baster before you put it back in the utensils box otherwise you will need an ambulance, well I would if it was me ;)
