at the main dealers to-day & asked about the 120 that has been parked outside for some time - it has a blown engine - the owner ignored the warning lights(he managed to rip off a coolant hose & lose all the coolant) & in true spanish "no pasa nada " style kept going untill the engine sized .as you can imagine the repair estimate is stratospheric & the owner is considering selling - It needs a new head & block so what is a 120 engine worth in the U.K?

What year is it, and I can give you an idea of the value.

You need find an engine for starters.
Not that easy to find, but are available.
Less than £1k, for a 1KD-FTV "short motor".
thats just a bare block and head, no injectors, turbo, zilch.

Any way, thats just the small part of the cost.
The Toyota cost to swap the 2 engines over is the killer.
Not much change from £4k. original asking was £6231, there is a lot of things like gaskets need to be bought.
There is a lot of parts need swapping over.

There is a lot of work involved, and no body but Toyota will consider touching it with a barge pole.
