Electric aerial problem.

Aerial now stays in the up position permanently.

When i switch ignition on the aerial motor whirs, and when I switch it off the motor whirs for ages, I guess the aerial has come off it at the bottom.

Cant see how to access it, is it via the footwell.

Or, can i disconnect the power supply to stop the whirring?

Aerial can stay up, doesnt bother me, radio is working fine still.

The wire does come through the footwell on the drivers side, so easy enough to get to. You can also get to the aerial via the wheel arch by removing the plastic splash cover (bit tight and small hands do help).

If it's the original aerial I believe you can change the aerial bit itself without having to remove the motor, but I am not sure how this is done.
