We used to ride our bikes all day long. No licence, insurance, tax, no traffic, no lights, no silencer. If we needed another bike we went down to the scrapyard where we could buy one for £3. There was a pile of bikes bigger than a house. All pre war.

Just think how much that pile of pre war bikes would be worth now, mega bucks.

Fond memories

We had 15, all 500cc Norton, BSA and Velocette. I kept all the Norton Gearboxes but when I went to college my Dad threw all the bikes away.
Bad Dad :icon-biggrin:

My Dad's a british bike nut, he's 85 this year and had bikes all his life, a bike was a necessity back in the day, he has stopped biking now his last bike was a 1954 BSA C11.
