Hi Guys!
had a mate of mine crossing france pulling a 30 foot boat with his 2002 landcruiser gx 90 when his gearbox decided enough was enough. he limped it to mine somehow on 4th gear and now its repair time.just want to throw it out here to the group to see if its been seen before. hes got no 1st 2 nd 3rd 5th or reverse ... the clutch depresses fine and very little clattering when in gear in 4th but try any of the other gears and she just sits there in gear going no where fast apart from a clattering that may be in the clutch release bearing or just aft of it:::
am i correct in guessing the only reason he made it is that 4th is somehow on the main shaft and the others are on a secondary shaft? at the end of the day its going to be a 2nd hand box section and hopefully the gear selection erea along with transmission is still intact somehow. has anyone come across a situation like this ? thanks in advance..
