Gear Lever Rattle

Most of the time the rubber bush is to remove excess vibration felt at the top of the stick
The bush just fails after a while mine too 20 rears and 360,000 klms
But sikaflex 227 black to the rescue

Hi all, thanks for all this insight, it's really helped!
Last night I took to investigating the same rattle on my Colorado. I wasn't sure if it was possible to separate the two parts of the stick where the retaining clip and rubber bush are (where the rattle come from) but it sounds like from this thread it's not possible which is why so many DIY fixes are begging suggested!
I called my local Toyota dealer and he sent me a diagrammatic which I'll post here with prices.

It sounds like the quickest fix is to drill and bolt it... I'm guessing you just drill right through & nut & bolt it from both sides?
Also would it be necessary to put some sealant in the holes before fixing the bolt for extra cushioning?
