Hi Tiaan,
Welcome aboard.
Are you actually in Calne? I know it well, I was brought up just North
of Chippenham.
Do mmake sure that you soak all the nuts and bolts with WD40 every
night for the next week, if you do it can be a nightmare job.
Well done.
Should be a great day out - don't forget to register on the website.

I'm also from SA with my dad being dutch...
I MIGHT be able to pop down to the plain, but I'll have to think about
it. (imagine - me taking my Bora for a spin in the mud!

Hi Jake
I reakon you could have an easy day of it if you wanted to go mud playing in
your Bora. All you have to do is make sure its in nuetrul, hand brake off,
engine running, hands tight on the steering wheel and away you go through
the whole course that is selected on the day, no bother at all. Of course
you would need to buy a few pints for the guy in front of you in his
landcruiser who just also happens to be towing you all the way. Well it is
one way of doing it in a Bora.

Hi all
Been off board for some time now mainly because work has been just all
too much for me, what with changing jobs etc. Anyway the TLC is still
running well, but there will always be a few niggles hopefully they are
mostly imaginary!! The replaced wheel bearings and seals seem to have
done the trick and no more leaks and wobbles. But there are some
clicks and pops coming from the birfields when going slow over large
bumps and ruts. I think that I should have changed them at the same
time as doing the seals?? Too late now in the year for doing it but
will address them next spring.
One thing I have noticed is that she is not as strong on the bottom end
as she used to be and there is a hint(well rather a lot actually) of
blue smoke when pulling hard. I suspect that it might be time to give
her a proper going over and do all the horrid jobs I have been putting
off for a very long time.
But this is all for next year as I am off to Cape Town for 2.5 weeks
holiday. If any of the board have tips, suggestions for things to do
while there I would be keen to hear your opins etc... We will be based
in Cape Town and I plan on going up the East Coast via the Garden Route
and fish the beaches and reefs as we go then come back via the interior
visiting the wine growing regions and then come back down the west coast
for even more beach fishing action!! So I will be driving rather alot!!
It will be me driving of course rather than wifey as I get very scared
when she takes the wheel. Something about only seeing 20ft in front of
the car and being completely oblivious to all other road users make me
very nervous. Sadly not in the Cruiser which is a real shame I even
thought of hiring one out there but it is too costly for my empty
wallet.
PS Sorry to be missing the TLC fest in November, will be too far away to
be able to get back in time for it but there is always next year!
All the best

Jis ou bees.
Funny (and sad at the same time) - I sold by cruiser when I bought the
bora. I do regret it! but at this moment its much better fo rthe
finances to drive a 1 year old bor(ing)a than a 15 year old cruiser
(in all aspects except the buying price)
I'd love to meet up at the plain. I'm still considering popping along
although it would be wierd not to have my own cruiser! ARGH
How would it work for those of us not bringing our own Toys?
Cheers
Jake
ps: Net soos jy s=EA! 'n Braai is 'n excellent idee... en 'n Windhoekie of twee!

We have people coming from all over so someone should be able to give
you a lift down. Even if you have to come under your own steam
somebody should be able to fit you into their LC.
So far we have 20 vehicles and 44 people coming with plenty still to
register like Tiaan (nudge, nudge!) so there is bound to be room for
you somewhere!

How many Afrikaners (ok, the English-speaking ones are also included

Looking forward to it !

Hi Dennis,
Chris Scott is booked so don't worry about that.
Don't do it! If you need to run we could always drop you one ennd of
the plain and you can run back to the pub for the lunch.
Yes, wellies are advisable it's pretty sticky mud out there.
Ha bloody Ha!
You have to get stuck once or twice to learn the limits of your tyres.
